In October 1979 I was on a balcony of a beachside hotel in Natanya, Israel. Out to sea there was a magnificent electrical storm. I set the camera up to take some time-exposures of the storm on transparancy film. The strange glows seen on this photograph were not noticed at the time. I have asked many people who might know what the cause is, but as yet no-one has offered an explanation.
